After our inaugural visit to the new Pinkberry, in West Vancouver Park Royal location, we couldn’t help but take a detour to Five Guys on our way home. I loved the smell of grilling ground beef patties and onions that seems hit you right when you enter the restaurant. The thing we really appreciated about Five Guys is the fact that they give the costumers a lot of freedoms when it comes to the topping options (options such as grilled mushrooms and grilled onions are free). After mulling over our topping choices we were ready to order.

Little Cheeseburger -onions, ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and grilled mushroom

Rachel and I ordered the little cheeseburger topped with onions, ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and grilled mushroom. The little cheeseburger is essentially a single-patty cheeseburger, while their regular cheeseburger option is a two-patty burger. Just as they have advertised, their well-done beef patty was very juicy and we found it to be surprisingly soft . Their toppings were very fresh as well and the mushrooms were seasoned perfectly. Our only complaint about our burger was that the hamburger bun was cold when it was served to us… and rather moist. This created a weird texture that was rather unappetizing. However, we did enjoy the little cheeseburger because the burger was not too heavy and we thought the patty was very well prepared.

Fries Five Guys Style

The Five Guys fries were fried right when you ordered them, and lightly season with salt. The fries were meets our standards but they did not exceed them because the fries lacked the addicting factor that is essential for good French Fries.

The burgers and fries at Five Guys did have their hiccups, but overall, we did enjoy our experience there because we thought that the preparation and ingredients were of good quality. I give Five Guys a 7 out of 10.
